PINAC will be incorporated into new photo site 0

By Carlos Miller

After weeks of negotiations, I’ve signed a contract with a publishing company where I agreed to incorporate Photography is Not a Crime into a new photo site called Pixiq.

The good news is that I will be getting paid for my content.

The bad news is that PINAC has now turned into a job instead of just a hobby. Wait, that’s actually really good news. And it was never just a hobby. It’s been a calling.

So expect more blogging from me.

The changes should be coming within the next few days. Hopefully it will be a smooth transition.

For at least the next year, the duration of the contract, readers who log on to carlosmiller.com will be redirected to my blog on Pixiq.

Pixiq was launched this month by Sterling Publishing, a New York company that is owned by Barnes and Nobles. Sterling also publishes a line of photography books called Lark Books. Much of that content will be available on Pixiq.

Pixiq is striving to be a one stop site for all things relating to photography. Or as their slogan states: “The world’s top photographers, bloggers and technical experts – all in one place.”

In all honesty, it wasn’t an easy decision for me because I’m a little cynical and jaded when it comes to working with corporations. But I’ve spoken with the editors and I believe them when say they will give me complete editorial freedom.
