Photography is Not a Crime will have a booth set up during Saturday’s PhilanthroFest event in Miami, joining more than a hundred other organizations, including some of South Florida’s hottest bands as well as the most popular food trucks.
The goal is to raise money for PINAC, so t-shirts, caps, polos (pictured above) and hoodies will be sold at a discount at the event, which will be held from 12-6 p.m. at Miami-Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, 300 NE 2nd Ave.
But since most of you do not live anywhere near Miami, we are also offering 15 percent off all merchandise on PINAC Nation throughout the weekend.
Just type in “PhilanthroFest” without quotes in the coupon code upon checkout. The sale ends Monday.
I will be manning the booth with my girlfriend, Rachel, who has taken over as Marketing Manager, a solid fit after spending six years as a Target buyer. She is responsible for ensuring the site makes money.
Since leaving Pixiq in October, it’s been costly to maintain because it’s become solely dependent on donations, which have been much appreciated.
Just last month, bandwidth costs were $273, just to give you an idea of what it costs to run PINAC.
Those of you who donated since I put out a call to action last month should have received a thank you card with a small token of my appreciation. I am extremely grateful for your generosity.
We are still in the process of installing the forums, which I believe with make the site much more educational and interactive because we have some very smart readers on this blog.
Unfortunately, there have been some lingering tech issues that have prevented the forums from going up, so I’m hoping they will eventually be resolved.
We are also in the process of establishing advertising rates, so if you are interested in placing an ad, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
And if you live in South Florida, come on by and say hi. Let’s take a photo together. Here’s Rachel and I during a shooting outing in January, sporting the PINAC gear, which will be available tomorrow at PhilanthroFest.
We’ve since received our concealed weapons permit as those of you who are friends with me on Facebook know. After all, it’s not only about the First Amendment but the Second as well.
