California Cop Arrested for Masturbating in Public While Following Woman

Once again, a cop is accused of masturbating in public.

This time in California where a woman said she came across a parked car on the side of the road with a man sitting in the driver’s seat “masturbating with his privates completely exposed.”

Realizing he had been caught, San Jose police sergeant James Rainey Mason started his car and put it into drive.

But only to follow the woman, who had continued walking down the sidewalk in disgust.

Mason then slowed his car down to drive alongside her, trying to get her to see his penis.

But the 39-year-old woman pulled out her cell phone and snapped photos, prompting him to drive away.

The woman managed to photograph his face and his license plate, which she used to file a police report with the Redwood Police Department, not realizing he was a 13-year veteran of the San Jose Police Department.

The incident took place September 4. Mason was arrested on September 11 after she picked him out of a lineup.

Mason was charged with two misdemeanors, including indecent exposure and engaging in a lewd act.

The San Jose Police Department said it is “monitoring the criminal investigation,” according to the San Jose Mercury News.

In 2011, Mason, along with two other cops, were cleared in the 2010 shooting death of a suicidal man.

He also serves as vice chairman and police representative for San Jose’s police and fire pension board.

Last week, a Boston police detective named Seth Richard was arrested for masturbating outside an apartment complex.

And last year, a New Jersey cop named Benito Gonzalez was arrested for masturbating in a Starbucks, pleading guilty earlier this year to lewdness charges where he was required to pay $360 in fines, and was then allowed to retire.

And another New Jersey cop named Jason Miller was arrested earlier this year for pulling men over, walking up to their cars and placing his exposed genitals in their faces before letting them go without writing a ticket.

Miller accepted a misdemeanor plea deal that did not require him to register as a sex offender.

And earlier this year, a Los Angeles police officer named Ryan Eric Galliher pleaded not guilty to walking up to five victims the previous year, ranging from ages 12 to 80, and exposing himself.

He was eventually arrested October 23 when he pulled down his pants and began masturbating in public, according to the Orange County Register.

There has been no further updates on his case and the Los Angeles Superior Court website was experiencing technical issues at the time of this writing, so it’s likely that his trial is still pending, which means he is still collecting a paycheck.
