A Virginia police officer tased a man who had his hands on the patrol car, appearing compliant and ready to allow himself to be handcuffed, in a video that surfaced Saturday.
“Roll over,” the cop orders, his taser still pointed, as the man falls to the ground.
The man was being arrested for larceny. The incident took place Thursday.
The officer is from the Fairfax County Police Department. The agency told a local news station it is aware of the video and are investigating.
According to WUSA9:
The Fairfax County Police Department is investigating “the facts and circumstances which led to the deployment of a electronic control weapon (ECW) in the Rose Hill area of the Franconia district on Thursday September 24, 2015.”
Police said the suspect refused treatment and was arrested in connection to a theft. He has been charged with larceny.
It is still unclear what lead up to the incident.
